My mom‘s latest thing is texting me at like 9 o’clock at night once a week to accuse me of being mad at her because I haven’t reached out. But she doesn’t reach out to me either to say things like I miss you. Let’s spend time together or anything. I’m so tired of playing these games.

This is exactly my experience. There was literally no room to be a child because I was carrying the burden of my mom’s pain. I’m 38 now and went no contact a year ago and it’s been the most developmental year of my life!

Oh my God I just realized when I was in eighth grade I would spend my allowance money on roses for her every week. Because she would just shut herself in her bedroom and cry, and I wanted to make it better.

My whole family is like this.....Im afraid to share my joy and good things I get in life because they all seem less than happy for me when I do..... like they are mad I have a good life.... I think 6 months could go by and I wouldnt hear from anyone in my family other than my Mom... and usually she will ask me 1 question about my life before going off about her life and the rest of the the people in my families lives.... hearing your posts really helps me

My mum died five years ago and I still spend all my time thinking about other people, where are they, what are they doing, how are they feeling, are they going to be OK in the future. I never think about my own future long enough to actually build a life for myself.
