I'm only 20 years old, and I never imagined I'd be in a position where I'd have to ask strangers for help to save my best friend. I live alone with Winston in my little apartment in Southampton, and it's just the two of us. He's more than a pet to me, he's my family, my comfort, and my home. A few weeks ago, Winston was diagnosed with hepatitis, and since then my entire world has revolved around trying to keep him alive. Every day is filled with vet visits, medications, sleepless nights, and the constant fear of losing him. I've spent every penny I had trying to save him. I've sold things I owned, borrowed money wherever I could, and done everything within my power because giving up on him has never been an option. My parents would help me in a heartbeat if they could, but they're not in a financial position to cover thousands of pounds in veterinary costs, so this has become a burden I'm trying to carry mostly on my own. I'm so incredibly grateful that together we've raised almost £900. Seeing complete strangers care enough to donate has brought me to tears more than once, and I will never be able to thank you all enough. But as thankful as I am, we're still a long way from our goal of £3,700, which is what Winston needs for his treatment and ongoing care. I'm not asking everyone for £1000 or anything . If enough kind people could spare just £2 or £5, it would genuinely make a difference and bring us one step closer to giving Winston the chance he deserves. If you aren't able to donate, simply sharing our story could help it reach someone who can. I'm doing everything I possibly can to save my little boy.
