Look ive come full circle with this one. I too hated it initially. Felt triggered even. But I now disagree with the sentiment that he wasted her time because it absolves her of any autonomy and responsibility for her own choices. I think if we can allow for this story to be something positive I hope for many women its a reminder that picking yourself should always be the best option. Not waiting for someone else.

I think you’re missing the art of this story if you hate Dexter. I don’t think One Day makes a good romance, but it does make for an incredible and compelling love story!
