SSPX here I don’t speak poorly of the Pope because he is the Pope and the victor of Christ however I love the sspx mass and everything else about it but I also love our Pope. And I feel so torn.

This is where practical theology is so important. It’s not just about which mass do you think sounds nicer. It’s about what fundamentally aligns with the nature and work of Christ. It’s about the accessibility of a meaningful Eucharistic celebration for all no matter their geography, native language, or literacy level.

I think we should have both types of Mass. Young people looking at the Catholic Church are very much interested in the “old” Mass. we should have a choice.

It seems like there’s a few misunderstandings in the comments. The Novus Ordo can be said in Latin. The Tridentine Mass doesn’t automatically mean that that group is part of SSPX. My great uncle helped found a Latin Mass parish in my city and while he always denied agreeing with SSPX, I know that the parish was on shakey ground for a while. They are fully in alignment with Rome now, though. For those who love and want to continue participating in a Tridentine or Latin Mass, that is still an option regardless of what might happen to those who follow SSPX.

Two things that I think are important. First, it isn't about language, it's about form. Second, many times in history "heretics" have been confirmed later on to have had the deposit of faith in its full form. Praying for unity and grace for all those involved in this ordeal.

As a little girl, my God Mother took me to a Latin mass. I didn't understand a word of it as it was in both Latin and Polish. However, it was the most beautiful mass I've ever attended.

As a revert in 2004, I’m so thankful for the Institute of Christ the King. The very church I was baptized in 1961 was the first one they established in the US and the first US convent as well! We are thriving beyond measure! We have several young women from our Oratory become Sisters, Oblates, and recently one just entered Seminary!
