4 years. That's how long I tried to be a consistent trader before I figured out what consistency actually was. I thought consistency meant winning every week. Hitting a number. Making the green show up reliably. Every time I had a losing week I felt like I'd failed. Every time I had a winning one I felt like I'd cracked it. Up and down for 4 years. What I learned is that consistency has nothing to do with the results. The results are random. You can't control them. What you can control is the process. Consistency is doing the same thing the same way regardless of what the last trade did. Same morning analysis. Same setups. Same risk. Same exits. Same time at the chart. The week is up or down based on what the market hands you, but the work is identical either way. The shift was realising consistency is upstream of profit. You don't trade consistently because you're profitable. You become profitable because you traded consistently for long enough. I had it backwards for 4 years. The other thing I had wrong. Consistency doesn't feel good. It feels boring. It feels pointless on the days nothing happens. It feels frustrating when you sit out a setup that would have worked because it didn't pass your checklist. You think you're missing out. You're not. You're building the only thing that actually matters. Most traders never get past this part. They want consistency to feel like progress. It doesn't. It feels like nothing for a long time, and then one day you look back at 6 months of statements and realise you haven't broken a rule in months and your account has grown. That's what consistency is. The boring middle that compounds into everything you wanted. Comment FIX and I'll hop on a free 1-1 conversation. We'll figure out what's actually stopping your trading and build a plan to fix it. #tradepsychology #tradingcoach #mentaltrading #tradermindset #tradingpsychologymastery
