So much of the time, people end up in ruts or more arguments than they’d like because we forget to slow down, listen, and be intentional. Pick a time each week to just see how the relationship is doing (good things too). Replace defensiveness with curiosity; seek to understand, not just “be right”. Try and work towards being better at speaking from, and listening for, the underlying vulnerable feelings. These shifts help us connect, listen, and express ourselves more clearly.
