Exactly💯 I've been thinking about this a lot lately too. It's crazy how much we absorb from social media and the people around us then end up calling those thoughts our own

I’ve grown up in the church and after awhile I realized my faith in god was rooted in others. Simply because I was fed it for so long I thought that was the norm and everyone believed that way but I grew older and began to explore myself and find things out about myself that were truly me rather than what has been simply always told to me or what others wanted me to be. But now I wish to explore other faith but I don’t think my nana would be okay with that.. and I tried talking to her but she’s convinced that no matter what I’m Christian because when I was younger I decided to get baptized.. idk what to do

I always think abt how we’d see ourselves and others if beauty standards didn’t exist Bec I never thought things like acne, weight, etc made u look better or worse or focused on that kinda stuff before i realized it was a “standard”

For the main question my ideology of children, parenthood and my choice to be childfree I think is an original thought. As in I wasn’t too heavily influenced to think this way by because of what other people think.

There is a concept in African sociopolitical philosophy called Ubuntu, the simple explanation for the concept is: I am because we are meaning I can only be fully me if you are fully you based on the fact that humans can not exist in isolation.
