@ovuud: vine (ii) - hanging light . revisiting the vine with this large-scale version. . second iteration includes updates to essentially every aspect of the design. the light housings build off of recent work while adding a completely new two-way unique light elements that are intimately surrounded by the sculptural wooden bodies. . this build feels like i unlocked something. it has me embracing the craft side of my practice (designer vs craftsperson is a whole different discussion). so much of this build was dependent on actively using my eye and dipping into hand-fabrication technique that i’ve built-up over the past decade - especially with the hand-bent freeform spine and hand-finished light elements. this is properly the closest to a build feeling like a part of me. i’m eager to tackle more larger scale pieces like this. . extremely thankful to clients and design colleagues that trusted me to execute this one. .
