@echoesoftheluo: If you ever heard voices, drums and crying children coming from the direction of Lake Victoria at night — You did not go outside. You grabbed metal. And you hit it. Hard. Because what was passing your home was Nyawawa. 👁 The spirits that come from the lake. They call people by name. And if you answer — you become their target. This is one of the most haunting beliefs in all of Luo folklore. #EchoesOfTheLuo #Nyawawa #LuoLegends #LuoCulture #LuoFolklore
Haven't heard the noises in a while, but last year while with my dad in his living room...there was a brief weird sound by the corner of the dining room....like a very brief windy voice..it's hard to describe the sound but my dad also heard it and we both looked at each other in shock but ignored it like it didn't exist.......
Years ago while young, I was with my grandma in the traditional kitchen when some oil started showing from the ground, and grandma quickly cursed it saying," Mond jachieng', dog kumiae!" (the devil's oil, go back to where you've come from)...then started hitting the oily substance with one of the firewoods, and the oils started going back into the ground.
Do you have any knowledge of any of these?????
