My ex went on a work trip for a few days. When he returned he asked if I missed him. I lied and said yes. It was definitely a data point.

3wks without, just me and the kids last year. everything was soooo much calmer. 1 week without him or the kids, I had MORE energy and got so much done around the house when I was supposed to be "relaxing."

Also you would be surprised how much stuff works out when you just take the first step. No one knows how things are gonna work in ANY situation. Sometimes you just gotta put one foot in front of the other in faith.

This was powerful. I’ve been on this journey for years now and sometimes I feel like such a failure because I haven’t left yet… but I’m still figuring out the logic around what is going to most benefit me, and I’m doing exactly this right now in my life and this helps me feel so much better about it.

I did this too! No kids luckily but my ex would visit his brother for a few days and the PEACE I would feel while he was gone was overwhelming
