@kiyoshibotanicals: Prepping nourishing meals for postpartum while my mom helps cook & clean, my dad and brother keep my little boy busy with cuddles and playtime… dream come true! The opportunity to live abroad has been amazing and I truly love our life in England, but it’s times like these that remind me of the challenges that come with raising a family far away from your loved ones in a new place. This month we’ve been lucky enough to have family visit us and it’s a sweet reminder that we were never meant to do this alone, and it encourages me to continue building our own village here, brick by brick. Because while family may be far away- or for some, not present at all- a strong, loving, community can certainly be cultivated. It takes time, intention and effort, but it’s also so much fun and so worth it, and has become one of my greatest priorities in motherhood, to raise my children in community. 🩷 #parenthood #motherhood #americanintheuk #livingabroad #village
