I had a FOURTH ROUND video interview for a customer service/reception job. After we’re done with the interview, the owner told me I’m too qualified and they wouldn’t be moving forward. So why did we do all of this then?!

There needs to be more accountability in the job posting/interviewing realm. Poor actions on the part of employers have been tolerated for way too long. They should have to show their actions to fill a position, and who was hired. They should also face penalties for "hiring" and then laying off that person within 3 months.

I had the same experience. They told me mid interview that they've already hired someone. I asked why we were interviewing at all and she told me questions like that are unprofessional. I laughed and hung up the zoom.

As an IT thats had multiple interviews the last 9 months… most of our interviews are 3-5 interviews just to not get the job

Girl! Last week I had a literal 2hr interview. Gave me a tour, met employees, showed me operations… and they hired someone else. Like sirrrrr!! I could’ve stayed home! 😭

I was told once, when I worked at Kohls, some companies just force managers/hr to still do the interview. It makes no sense, unless they intended to offer you a different job instead

I was looking to move up to senior manger in my company. I’ve was there 15 years. Had to drive 2 hrs to the headquarters. I get there, run into one of the newly hired manager I know and they are excited they were just offered the job I was there to interview for…I let them know that was not professional and charged them for mileage and parking. I left that company 1 month later. They closed 1 year later. Bullet dodged!
