As a Black Father to three half Okinawan children, I love that she represents and is a role model. Mixed Japanese kids from all different mixes go through a difficult period of finding their way and dealing with acceptance, so I’m glad she shows they can rise above all the negativity from all walks of life that don’t understand the struggle of being in that demographic.
