Four-dimensional space is a concept widely used in mathematics, physics, and modern cosmology. In mathematics, it refers to a space possessing four independent spatial dimensions. We are accustomed to living in a three-dimensional world — defined by length, width, and height — so intuitively visualizing a fourth direction is impossible. However, this does not mean it cannot be described mathematically. Just as a two-dimensional inhabitant of a flat world could not comprehend the concept of height, humans are unable to directly perceive a fourth spatial dimension. Mathematicians can calculate the properties of four-dimensional objects, construct models of them, and study their geometry. One of the most famous such objects is the tesseracts — the four-dimensional counterpart to an ordinary cube. In physics, the concept of a fourth dimension is often associated not with an additional spatial direction, but with time. According to the theory of relativity proposed by Albert Einstein, space and time form a unified four-dimensional space-time. Any event in the universe can be described using four coordinates: three spatial and one temporal. It is this model that allows us to explain planetary motion, the operation of satellite navigation systems, the bending of light near massive objects, and many other phenomena that have been experimentally confirmed. If a distinct fourth spatial dimension existed and living beings could move freely within it, their capabilities would appear supernatural to us. They could see the interiors of closed objects without opening them, pass through walls, vanish and reappear anywhere, and move objects as if familiar physical barriers did not exist.
