@ashen.rose.media: These are a few of the hot takes that I have about social media, as an alt/goth social media manager: If you have to rely on AI to make your content, maybe content creation isn’t for you 🤖 Although I’m against generative AI in creative spaces, I’m specifically talking about people who use AI to generate ALL of their content. It makes me wonder what the point is (beyond money), when content creation is meant to be creative. It should be illegal for content where a child is the centre to be monetised 🏡 I’ve never been a fan of kid-centred channels anyway, but @daniellesadvocacy and Behind the Screen (on YT) really opened my eyes on just how prevalent and normalised monetising kids’ lives are. I recommend that anyone on the fence check out their channels because if they don’t change your mind, I don’t know what will! More followers ≠ Being better at what you do 🤳🏻 Having more followers than someone doesn’t make them a better artist or a more successful business-owner. It just means that people want to follow along with them (whether it’s out of love or hate). TikTok shop affiliates* can cheapen your brand image fast 🗑️ I put a biiiig asterisk beside this, because I’ve got nothing against TikTok shop affiliates themselves. But I definitely have an issue with people who try to frame products as something life-changing, when they clearly haven’t been using it for long enough, nor have the industry knowledge to actually know what they’re talking about. You don’t have to be an industry pioneer, but when you’ve heard the same script from multiple affiliates, it makes the associated product feel like a scam. What do you think about these?
