also people need to stop fear mongering about public transit. just mind your own business and you're perfectly safe. nobody gives you a hard time if you're keeping to yourself. I take the bus multiple times a day and I never feel unsafe

Hi. Yes some people can bike or bus, but not everyone is young, strong, and healthy. We all have different needs and we all need different things to accommodate those needs. Some people cycle and need safe infrastructure. Some people have limited mobility and need parking close to their destination.

its less about the cost of public transit its the time I save by not taking it, I worked for downtown for 4 years taking the bus for 3/4. getting a car saved me so much time in my everyday life. now to get to the job I work(not dt now) it takes 30min drive, would take me 2hrs on the bus, and an hour 20 on bike, and thats just one way (this pic is my house to the ice district)

What is the schedule like for those busses? I grew up in new York city and I love taking public transportation. However, after moving to Portland Maine area, I realize not all public transportation is the same. When I was living in South Portland I literally had to leave my house an hour and a half before work just to be there on time. If I had a car, it would’ve only been like a 15 to 20 minute drive. Not all public transportation is the same.

I would love to take public transit but I live in St. Albert and the buses don’t run early enough to get to work when I work days and don’t run late enough to get home when I work evenings (I’m a healthcare worker)

Those surface lots could be a parking garage, with a office tower on top. The current downtown building parking is basement parking, with enough for 1 car per unit max.

I became disabled and couldn't walk from the surface lots anymore. parking for my mandatory 3 in office days cost $30 a day. there's parking in those buildings, but no one can afford it. the companies that lease these buildings should be demanding more affordable parking for the staff they force to work in office

I’m just confused as to how they managed to let 90% of them go unlicensed? And then had to do a whole audit to figure it out? Like someone just let it slip and was like meh and now we’re supposed to gold star the CoE for following up? That is my bigger concern honestly. Why wasn’t this dealt with considering how tight finances are.
