It won’t get fixed. The manufacturers are paying off companies like all data to lower their customer pay times. If you don’t believe me research it for yourself

I was making 120k a year, wanna know when I left 😂 when I made the company over 1.5 mill in labor alone and ran the numbers and realized I was working really hard to make someone else dreams goals. I Left dealer a year ago and let’s say I already made what I was making in half the time on my own terms and time. There comes a time when you got to work on your own goals and dream unfortunately working for someone wasn’t it for me. I never fully understood that until now. As a side note warranty time was never even a factor for me or other top performers, they get the shit done and move on you know this.

About 300K techs leave yearly. Techforce organization is reporting an estimated shortage of 1-1.5 million techs short in 2-3 years.

Love people trying to tell us why we are leaving…PAY it’s PAY!!!!!!!! If it’s bad labor time it’s still about pay if it’s a bad manager it’s still about pay…flat rate makes everything about pay

Technically warranty time is still pay related lol, idk if it’s just Mazda or my experience but I often beat warranty time even on first time repairs.

Warranty time is directly correlated to money so yes money is the biggest reason people are leaving. That’s one of the reasons you left the dealer

Warranty time is pay. Hours per job is your pay per job. Flat rate system is just bad and creates bad environments. When I worked at a dealer, they didn’t have enough work for everyone so jobs went to people who’ve been there longer. The ones with no work were expected to help the ones with work, the ones helping got no credit toward their pay. That was only 1 of a very long list of issues.

Warranty times are terrible, flat rate is an antiquated pay plan, the health benefits are terrible, little to no retirement/401k, and the toxic work environment/conditions that you are subjected to on a daily basis. It’s a horrible, thankless and unappreciated career and I wish I got out years ago before I was locked in
