@capitalist.critique: Many Marxists are highly skeptical of the Holodomor. Those same Marxists aren’t nearly as skeptical of the “Cambodian genocide.” They’ll acknowledge bourgeois fabrication in Stalin allegedly killing 50 million people, but then blindly believe that Pol Pot killed everyone with glasses. Pol Pot himself wore glasses. So did Ieng Sary and Son Sen. They’ll be highly skeptical of Mao allegedly killing 100 million people, but then blindly believe all of the allegations about the Khmer Rouge, such as Pol Pot knowingly committing genocide against ethnic and religious minorities. What’s the evidence for this? How do we know he ordered it? Just because soldiers commit atrocities, such as Red Army soldiers against German civilians, doesn’t necessarily mean it was ordered by high command, such as by Stalin or his generals. They’ll apply a rigorous standard of skepticism for certain historical cases and figures, but then abandon that same standard when discussing the Khmer Rouge. #polpot #cambodia #khmerrogue #marxism #communism
