As a Pakistani descent Yorkshire man, I fully support that these vile men get the heaviest punishment, being named and shamed, and tagged for the rest of their lives. My heart goes out to the girls who suffered at the hands of these men. No excuses, get them caught and punished, get the investigation done. Also do the same for white grooming gangs as, at the end of it, all people involved in grooming, drugs etc should be punished in the most painful way possible as they have and continue to ruin lives.

I remember the press running stories about teen pregnancies at the time. They branded the 11/12 year old as whores.

You'd be surprised how many MPs, Police, Government officials cover it up because they're involved in the acts to. behind the scenes the higher ups use these dirty men (and women), whether pakistani or other ethnicity, to be "fronts" for the so called business. All involved deserve to be punished

This is a great summary. It’s annoying when people leave out the blatant class issues and the fact some victims weren’t white…almost as if certain storytellers ignore the nuance and complexity in order to propel their racist/Reform agendas.

This year it came out that South Yorkshire Police were actively involved in the abuse. Police officers raped and abused victims which is why they covered it up, not due to not wanting to appear racist as SYP originally said. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd9e1dlw5w2o. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cqjeywr58yxo

Many care home staff handed the girls over to the perpetrators. I suspect they were paid

My brother worked in a home where some of these girls were moved across the country to get them away from these gangs, they would up root these girls to "Keep them safe" rather than dealing with the problem.
Some of these girls would run away and go back to their "owners" social services, the police would say they are bringing it on themselves running back! No, they were groomed and conditioned to believe they couldn't survive without them, how can 14 year old girls "bring it on themselves" some of the girls would beg and bleed to go back because they had too.. how can the police honestly believe a child of sane mind would genuinely want to be in that situation!? They blamed them! My brother left that job a different person. The stories he tells are absolutely heart breaking.

Absolutely not every Pakistani is like this or behaves like this and shouldn’t be the takeaway from this. However, we cannot deny that many people in the Pakistani community who were not directly involved made many excuses for these men and tried to brush it under the rug as well. As a British Pakistani, our community really needs to take much more accountability for the filth we produce and protect.

thank you for giving an honest and comprehensive review rather than make this a race thing. clearly Pakistani community also need to ask some deep searching questions about why these men did this and what in their upbringing or exposure made them feel this was ok? you are right, they abused Asian girls as well in their own community. we need to shine light on a problem and work TOGETHER to stop it from happening again

this was happening in bradford when I was at school and that's 30yrs ago. we would have gangs of Pakistani boys waiting in cars for the underage girls coming out of school. they would invite you I to the car to go for a drive and have a party with them. every damn day and police didn't car. teachers would hang around making sure kids didn't get in there cars but it just meant they moved slightly further away from the school grounds and still tried the same shit.

Such cases makes my skin boil. They didn’t care because the children weren’t deemed worthy of rescue. Why didn’t the people start protesting and rioting. It took over 2 decades. You can’t rely on institutions to rescue you. You have to do it yourself

I grew up in a rough part of a Northern town in the 90s and 00s. we all knew it was happening then. I was once 13/14 stumbling home drunk when a Taxi driver pulled up and kerb crawled me asking if I wanted to go to the next town over with him. I had to run away. We all know girls that ended up pregnant. A gang was just prosecuted and 2 of the men (father and son) lived directly opposite me growing up. My mum would tell me never to go in their house. We all knew. Huddersfield, Bradford, Dewsbury, Wakefield, it was so so widespread. White girls were just seen as a target to be used and abused (plus Asian girls behind doors in family homes)

This is giving Epstein vibe…no one cares about working class girls…abuse is going to thrive if police…social services…local councils turn their back on these children and it’s going to embolden the abusers. If, had been nipped in the bud… would not have carried on for this long.
