@chinaminutes: There are moments when a graduation celebrates more than just one person ❤️🎓 At the graduation ceremony of Guizhou Minzu University on June 16, Chinese Language graduate Zhao Wei fulfilled a lifelong wish by bringing the grandparents who raised her to share the milestone with her. Her 72-year-old grandmother walked onto the graduation stage beside her, where both had their graduation tassels moved during the ceremony, while her 78-year-old grandfather, who has difficulty walking, watched proudly from the audience. The heartfelt moment quickly went viral across Chinese social media, with many praising Zhao Wei for honouring her grandparents in such a way and for letting them experience a graduation they never had. After Zhao Wei's parents left home for work when she was young, it was her grandparents who raised her in their mountain village in Sinan County, Guizhou. Although they had little formal education themselves, they never missed a parent-teacher meeting and supported her throughout her education, helping her reach university. After graduating, Zhao Wei joined China's Western Development Volunteer Program.
