they are ultraprecise on this, what was never the intention of the rule, but, they refuse to switch to actual, precise playing time... So your goal is canceled based on 1 cm offside, but you can score in some random period of extra time only the ref knows...

the rules and methods aren't there to give a completely objective reflection of reality, they are a way to apply a clearly defined offside rule. it doesn't matter so much that a player is perfectly onside/offside, only that we measured them as such in a reasonable amount of time. the rules are known before any given game and the attacker needs to accommodate them.

The point of the science and theis to make it as accurate as possible, but admittedly still not perfect, but then show a simulation that 100% supports the decision. The aim is unbiased clarity, not perfect truth

The camera used films 340fps. The sensor is in the ball and can detect a pass nearly instaneously

To add to that: offside was originally invented to prevent the striker to get an unfair advantage over the Defence. How is it an advantage if there’s like only half an inch of your shoulder closer to the goal than it should be? Makes no sense at all

Offsides should be determined purely on the torso and legs… an arm being off doesn’t provide any advantage to the player.

ABS in baseball has a margin of error of 0.16” for a 105 mph 2.84” diameter ball in an imaginary square I think they could easily get VAR right

yes but still - this is not the spirit of the rule of offside. if it's so close to onside that the referrers can't tell than it should be considered onside. the technology should only be used to review agregious errors

however the camera is and cannot be at 30fps(frame per second). you would not have good images to use if we had 30fps in sport photography. that was the only thing that killed your argument for me
