Personally, I don't even use any US AI, cos they are (eventually) spyware. And I am 100% happy with Chinese open source AIs I use. I thinking China will definitely win.

That's true. China has actually won already. Kimi 2.7 is wow and it does things better than Claude Code and Codex. We have switched to Qwen from Opus 4.8 already. 1/7th of the cost

eventually, enterprises (the real market for OpenAI and Anthropic) will find it way cheaper to build their OWN AI hardware (couple of high end GPUs) and install these free models, hire AI engineers to setup the local AI + RAG + fine tuning and they will have a superior models to what Anthropic and OpenAI provide (fine tuned with their own data) and the cost will be waaaaay cheaper than burning tokens for millions of dollars... local AI is the future

Did you know you can use Seadance 2.0 in China at 1/7th of the Global pricing. It is way cheaper for people in China or people who understand Chinese as the website and app is in Chinese language to render videos. I think such savings are applicable to all Chinese AI. US claimed they have a faster model, but often than not it is not noticeable for most users using AI to code and such. But usage cost is so tangible and noticeable. Who wants to pay 7 times more to achieve the same?

Turned out that all those ‘China overcapacity’ issues that those countries are bitching about are pretty freaking awesome, especially when it comes to energy production. Instead of wasting their electricity on LEDs on the skyscrapers, they turn those electrons into tokens and sell them at a premium.

the main thing the us got correct is to ban the export of the machines that do the extreme uv lithography that make the wafers themselves but china is starting to ick the pace for the chips and such as they have already started from 2025 to make their own machine. and also you Huawei that has done some crazy stuff with their super thin 2nm chips too 🥰
