I think this is a wonderful way of looking at it. I hate the idea of needing to forgive someone for something in order to move on. I think those are two different things. You don’t need to forgive them to take back ownership of your own life.

I had a motorcycle incident last summer which resulted in 39 days in the hospital and a right leg BKA. I completed my diploma in hypnotherapy and I based my practice on the concept of existentialism, which allows people who've gone through trauma, especially limb loss, to understand and take ownership of their free will and the responsibility of that in a universe that is indifferent to you. It's actually huge and very propelling.
