The sad truth about laika is that they make zero money they haven’t had a profitable movie since Coraline and the even worst part is that their bankrupt the only reason they are capable of making stuff now is because the son of Nike bought them after Coraline and funds everything out of pocket. I pray that with their new movie that will change and they will have the money to do more beautiful projects without having to be dependent.

Wildwood is a definite watch. Laika studio is keeping human artistic expression and creativity alive. It took 15 years to make with them only doing a few seconds of stop motion work a week. In a world where AI and realism are taking over to see stop motion is amazing. And it’s an eldest daughter to younger brother story 🥲
