@car_buying_consultants: I wasn’t asking for the dealer’s best price. I simply wanted an itemized quote with the selling price, taxes, fees, and out-the-door total. From there, I’d tell them exactly what it would take to earn my business. Instead, the conversation turned into “you have to come in first.” I understand that’s the process many dealerships train their BDC teams to follow, but today’s buyers expect transparency before they invest hours at the dealership. It’s 2026—getting a straightforward price shouldn’t be this difficult. #carbuyingconsultants #carbuyingadvice #livenegotiation #carbuyingprocess #negotiation
This is why Carvana car buying is the best. Clear transparent pricing. Their best number whether you pay cash or finance. I wish all these dealers would go under already.

Why would coming into the dealership in person get you the “best price”. And why are they pushing you to come in?

Your presence is their advantage. And they want you there for HOURS so you’re invested. Keep doing this, everyone. Tommy is right.

Funny, because their worst price also requires you to come in to the dealership.

We can all change them. If we just keep calling them and stop going in to negotiate, they will change

Let’s cut all the bullshit. The dealership wants you on site because it shows your commitment to truly wanting to purchase a vehicle. If you call in and ask for a price, they know you’re going to use that to get a better deal elsewhere. If there’s a game to be played, it typically is played more from the buyer rather than the seller. Commitment is key.

Dealers want you in person because it’s a lot easier to manipulate and coerce in person. It’s a mental game. If they just lead with transparency, their job would be so much easier. lol
