GM had cars with non vented gas tanks for instance the 1970 Corvette, came with a non-vented gas cap and a return line from the fuel pump.

Check the breather line going to the tank. It probably got clogged with fuel. You can unplug it and it’ll drain the clogged fuel. It won’t be much at all
