Indeed, humans eventually grow weary of everything, and all things fade away; only in drawing close to God do you find security, warmth, comfort, serenity, joy, and the hope that Someone hears your innermost prayers. It is the hope of an eternal life free from boredom, fatigue, toil, or death—so be with God and fear nothing. Believers who hold fast to the oneness of Allah used to say: "If kings and the sons of kings knew the state we are in"—referring to the inner peace, contentment, and blessings they experienced—"they would have fought us with swords to take it from us." When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was asked about the nature of worldly life, he replied: "It is like a wayfarer seeking shelter in the shade of a tree." This means that our journey in this world is very brief; the truly wise person is the one who exercises patience in the face of worldly desires and pleasures, and who worships God as He ought to be worshipped, so as to attain and triumph in Paradise.💐

I think at the beginning you meant to say that a lot of people think The Day of Judgement is near. You are absolutely right. Even history agrees with the Quran on this that all Empires which exceed their limits have tumbled. However you will find a lot of literature in Islamic Escathology particularly Hadith related to end times. While I also agree that the Big End i.e. Qayamat might not be near in the traditional sense but all clues point to a major readjustment where Islam will play a big role in which another important event that still needs to play out is the case of Isa Ibn Maryam. Actually all religions point to a Messiah like figure and our Prophet also prepared his Ummat for Isa's (as) return
