one of my favorite things a math teacher has done for me/their classes is what they called “pass-through errors” meaning, if a student added wrong, or dropped a negative, or smth small like that, but used the formula they were supposed to be using correctly, the student would get a majority of the points for the problem! it’s especially useful in higher level math when you aren’t paying as much attention to the basics. it adds time onto grading, but i feel it also better reflects how much a student is learning the material. having the correct answer wasn’t as important as proving you know how to use the formula(s) correctly
