One little thing that helps is to print things on colored paper! I always sit papers down(not where they go 😂) and lose them.

Alarms. No mental load of when it is time to clean up for lunch or when a pull out happens. Set specific songs for each type of activity. The kids learn 'this song is for lunch, this song is when I go to AIG'.

I dont put things i use for teaching (think resources for kids to use) behind ‘doors’. If it is something they need to use, it’s gonna be in plain sight on open shelves or i forget i have it and it will not be used.

Meds, lists, color coding, one day a year I throw stuff away that I did not use, binders for each grade level I teach that have every resource I've ever used for that grade level (bc my drive is a nightmare), email folders that only covers that year, consistent schedule (bell ringer, grammar, lit/writing-same order every day). that last one is one that my adhd students have told me they really appreciate.

Pamela :
Dedicating a block of time outside of the school day to hyperfocus, grade and put grades in the grade book, and going to a special place (pref with food/coffee) to do it outside home/school. Panera on Sat AMs was my jam and I looked forward to it all week. I didn't grade during week -- it helped to remove the adhd guilt of not having the mental energy during the week

My classroom theme is colors and I add whatever I want to it because you’re so right, I CANNOT do the change of themes every year. My biggest thing I’ve done is telling my kids what I need to do because I swear they’ll forget everything else but reminding me what I need to be doing 😂😂😂 year 10 besties 😘

I create google folders of resources for certain times of the year like back to school night, conferences, beginning of the school year… The documents that I only use at those times go into those folders. If I don’t do that, I can never find or remember the names of the documents that I need.

I'm going into my 19th year and was just diagnosed last November. One thing that I learned works for me is body doubling. I have a co-worker that I will grade with after school, because she keeps me on task. We also set very clear goals each time we do this ("I'm going to finish grading these 10 essays") and stick with it until we're done. Oh, and my phone goes either in my bag or a drawer so that I'm not distracted by it.

My cousin who has extreme ADHD has 4 classroom themes so that each new class sees a different theme as they progress through the years. I think that's so great. It gives her change as well.

We have 4 data points per class per unit (6 units in the academic year) I was awful at feedback and marking because they come close together in a unit so I keep an excel spreadsheet and colour code it for when they’ve done the unit, when I’ve marked it and when I’ve done feedback on it

I created organization for myself that was easy but effective. Students are numbered in alpha order. Folders on my desk in a vertical file holder. Labeled: to be graded, to be filed, to be copied. In the to be graded I print out empty grade sheets from the SIS and label the columns with the activity title and grade on paper to transfer to the gradebook in bulk. To be filed are placed away in number order and then I can quickly sort a large amount of graded assignments at once and file them away. To be copied I make sure to specify how many, double sided, stapled, etc so I know exactly how I need it. I also use my planning periods to maintain this organization (and early mornings to get copies done). It becomes so fluid that by the end of the year I have many planning periods empty where I can do what I want or go find a friend to chat with.

If you take meds like I do then breakfast is 10x as important for us than it already is lol especially with protein. I have never been a breakfast person but meds and being so busy I struggle to make myself eat lunch unless I’m noticeably starving. So I make it a priority to always have protein shakes and protein bars with me for breakfast and a quick snack. The first few hours of my days with meds is my most productive so I work with my strengths rather than punish myself for my weaknesses
