I worked at Apple for four years and they’re greedy for a lot of reasons. Not just their greedy prices or greedy price hikes. But yeah everything is jumping because of the war and corruption right now. So it isn’t just Apple - you’re right.

yeah, I'd say they're all greedy. It all stems from ram and chip producers choosing to manufacture more for AI centers and less for actual consumers. They could (and probably should) expand their production capacity. My personal issue with apple is that they've gone from an actual tech brand to being a designer brand. The only reason I could justify owning an apple pc is for video editing, and even then there are still better options for a similar price

yes but I think the point is apple has historically charged very high prices and these massive jumps on current models is something that we haven't seen much of. Also many windows laptops are made majority by other companies than Microsoft, and the steam deck is just a bad deal to get you to switch to steam os.

It’s more nuanced. Ai companies have made contracts with ram and hardware companies like nvidia to be sold exclusively to them and nobody else. These companies are just responding with the lack of ram. Not defending but it’s deeper
