A) They’re mostly not communists, they are social-democrats that work for social reform within capitalism and really really don’t like the communist projects of the 20th and 21st century. B) If they did that would be fucking awesome. Soviet Union and China have the biggest rises in human wellbeing seen in modern history, China surpassing the Soviet Union in this status.

I feel like, and I wanna be clear I make this point respectfully because you’re a respectful content creator here, but this concern seems to arise from a misunderstanding which I think also ties into the mislabeling of the Democratic Party and liberally leaning individuals as “left-leaning” or the “left party” when neither group has exercised any interest in truly left leaning policy or ideology. That’s regardless of whether it’s through interest in addressing social reform or the allegedly aggressively radical status quo I hear people say the demsocs wanna change the country with. As someone who’s recently joined the demsocs I think it’s very important to understand that while like MAGA the organization leans further in its respective direction than either of the two parties do, it is much more eclectic in its members ideologies, ranging from more center-left leaning reformists to full on Marxist Leninist maoist revolutionaries. The only thing I’ve experienced being generally shared is that they are all more truthfully left leaning than either liberals or democrats pretend to be. I think it isn’t necessarily true they are trying to hijack the Democratic Party, and a good number of people from my chapter and neighboring chapters I’ve met in fact resent the fact the Democratic Party pretends to be left at all.
