JcPennys did it to me. Gave 5k and slowly reduced it every 3 months and then closed my account. 😂 I rarely shop there.

Sometimes, depending on how long you’ve had a department store credit card and your account history, the issuer may automatically upgrade you to the Visa or Mastercard version of that card, giving you the ability to use it anywhere those networks are accepted. As for the Home Depot credit card, I don’t believe the standard consumer card uses the Visa or Mastercard network anymore. The regular Home Depot card is generally a store card that’s only accepted at Home Depot.
