@doclizziedpt: 8 months postpartum… Today I’m taking a pause to acknowledge how far I’ve come instead of focusing on how far I still want to go. Do I still have aesthetic goals? Yep.
Strength goals? Absolutely.
Athletic goals? Always. But I’m proud of this body right now, too. Somewhere along the way, we started believing that “bouncing back” should happen as quickly as possible. But when do we normalize looking like we’ve had babies? When do we normalize extra skin, cellulite, stretch marks, or body fat? Having goals and appreciating your body where it is can coexist. Some women feel more like themselves and maybe reach their goals at 6 months. Awesome! Others at 2 years. Just fine too! Some are carrying emotional weight. Some are navigating sleepless nights. Some are still deep in the fog. All of that is okay. There isn’t ONE direct path or timeline. ✨Let’s stop confusing our baby-making era with being weak. You can be strong AF and still have loose skin.
You can be building muscle and still have body fat.
You can be healthy and still have things you maybe want to change. I recently fully weaned from breastfeeding, and for the first time in a long time, I’m starting to feel a little more like myself physically and mentally (this is not linear by any means…I’m navigating this day by day). But I’m finally in a place where I can lock in on the one thing I know *really* changed body composition— my nutrition —and you know what? That’s okay. It was never a race anyway. I’m not behind and I’m not too late…
I’m right on time for MY journey. And it might look different than yours! But again, that’s okay too. It’s pretty cool we can all come from different circumstances and strive for the goal of becoming our strongest selves without the pressure of a timeline. You aren’t behind, you’re right on time! You are rocking this girl. And if you need some accountability or help along the way or just a mom friend who knows a lot about the pelvic floor + strength gains —> I got you 💕 #Momworkouts #momlife #homeworkouts #strongmom #momfitness #workouts #fitmom #pelvicfloor #pelvicfloorrehab #momof3 #momoflittles #pregnancy #postpartum #postpartumworkouts #pelvicfloorworkouts #mindmuscleconnection
