I disagree that the point of life is to live forever. Evolutionarily we evolved to die so we don’t always take up the resources the younger generation needs. Now we aren’t like fish so we have enough of our resources to support a bunch more people, but to argue that the point of life is not to die is to misunderstand what evolution is.

When youre not immortal every choice matters because you only get one life. As you grow old, you may have regrets and those regrets matter because you know theres no starting over. But if you were immortal, you could always try again. No mistake would be permanent no moment would be irreplaceable. After enough time, everything would lose its meaning because there would always be another chance. Its our limited time that makes our choices, our regrets, and our lives meaningful.

I think everything this guy says is true except for immortality being the end all be all goal for humanity, if humans become immortal everyone will just want to kill themselves because their lives will become so repetitive and meaningless that nothing matters anymore. As Neil Degrasse Tyson said, if you’re immortal, you would never have the motivation to even get out of bed because there will always be tomorrow.

Sounds miserable, and wouldn’t even work, this is assuming everyone in the world will stop being power hungry and greedy, and we know that will likely never happen, 2. If happiness is just a chemical (I understand it is) then wouldn’t chasing “true happiness” just be the same as regular old happiness, 3. Wouldn’t we just end up killing ourselves after so long of being immortal, saying that being okay with the fact we will die some day is a mental disorder is a mental disorder is crazy, don’t act like after so long things won’t get repetitive even if you do things out of the norm. And this is still guessing that immortality exists in our universe, If it doesn’t then that means we will just be slaving away for no reason just to feel the chemical of happiness instead of feeling it somewhere else
