My heart goes out to you. It’s been over a year since I’ve lost my mom, but My mom went in with a stomach ache in Sept/24: needed an emergency surgery, never could be left alone after that surgery, and she passed in March/25, only 61, healthy (so it seemed), and a nurse who worked 12hrs the day she went in with a stomach ache. Being the oldest & only sibling in the area, it was all on me. I remember googling what needs to be done when someone passes, and a website popped up “the 1st 52 things that you should do” and I was “52????”. 52 would have been a vacation compared to everything that in actuality that needed to be done, from packing up her home, to choosing her headstone, writing a freaking obituary, (nothing I wrote, felt it was deserving of who she actually was) and everything in between. It’s not gotten ANY easier, everyday I mourn her, but u learn to cope with the loss as time goes by. It was a year in March of this yr. Feels like yesterday. Still burst into tears most days, however, I can stop hyperventilating within minutes instead of an hour. Best of luck to you, and thank you for the 8 steps to cleaning house, it’s why I was on ur page. It’s an absolute brilliant plan. Lost the paper I originally wrote it down on, so popped over to get the steps once again as it’s truly been an absolute godsend for me. Sending you strength ❤️
