I kind of hate being aroace I have failed my parents they wanted to see me start a family and I feel like I have had pressure put on me to seeing as I am the eldest they’re all going “when you get married” and “when you get a boyfriend” but I don’t want that it makes me feel like I have failed them and that I’m going to end up like being viewed like how is my Auntie who is essentially made fun of for not starting her own family I also am too scared to come out to my parents as aroace because they will tell me it’s not a real thing

For me im not ashamed, but I have unaware internalized homophobia. I feel like me liking a girl is odd and unusual, something that makes me feel like any crush on a girl that I have is in a friendly way not a loving way. I have a girlfriend right now and I love her so much but my gosh it took me so long to figure out if I liked her as a best friend or a lover. But I am very happy now!
