PSA: Always carry more water than you think you’ll want in the desert! You can’t tell how much you’re sweating as well there, so you also need more water than you think (don’t forget salt). Then also…! Pro tip: if you bring a travel size spray bottle, you can fill it with water and spritz it on you in hot exposed parts of hikes. Evaporation works wonders in the desert, utilize it! Feels amazing. Additional recommendations: take plenty of breaks in the shade. HAT. SUN GLASSES. SUN SCREEN. Sun shirts are awesome (see also: wet your sun shirts or fast drying clothes and they will cool you down like crazyyy). WEAR SUNSCREEN. The sun doesn’t play around here, it acts different. Play nice and it’s the best time, but act careless and you’ll be suffering for no reason!
