the only one i disagree with is dating 16+, this will make her more secretive and want to hide things from you, rather than being able to talk to you about the relationship and any problems that go along with it. i’d say make it 10+. kid relationships are cute and a lot of the time they end up being life long friends

none of these are controversial, and the +16 for boyfriend thing is actually a standard many parents have that we all know never actually works bc kids keep it secret 😭 i would rather recommend you not to say that to your future daughter. think of it a bit: you won't stop her if she ends up having a boyfriend at 13, BUT if you don't make her feel like she should hide it from you then she might tell you if she has one. and there you will be able to properly guide her through her emotions and puberty and make sure there's boundaries in that relationship that aren't crossed UNTIL she's 16 and knows enough to have a relationship without needing your supervision. i think it's healthier this way, because she won't be scared of you, she will still have freedom yet you will also have the chance to watch over her, which i bet it's your actual concern. at the end of the day it will be how you say it tho, but i would recommend you to take this (and everyone else who is saying the +16 for boyfriend is not a good idea) advice into consideration as a last side note: also consider the possibility it isn't a BOYfriend what she ends up having. idk if you are ok with it or not, but just because you don't wish for it doesn't necessarily mean it won't happen, so always have in mind "unexpected" outcomes

By boyfriend do you mean someone you are in a serious relationship with and go on dates with or just some boy you have a crush on and talk with? Cause going on dates, spending a lot of time together, and being in a genuine romantic relationship makes absolute sense for 16+ only. Just being friends who like each other and call each other girlfriend and boyfriend in middle school or early high is fine though. - To be fair i’m not into anyone romantically so maybe middle schoolers and early high schools aren’t dating in the way I think 😭
