USA has a decent lead over China for the moment but China has come up to 2nd place extremely fast. China has far more engineers & far larger manufacturing capacity so it seems inevitable that China will surpass USA within 20 to 30 years.

Canada will be the only other country that may be getting the 85 for NORAD. I believe it’s contingent upon Canada committing to ordering the 88 F-35 units from the original agreement. If we order less than 88, then our jets will not get the upgraded radar.
