Got pregnant, talked to ex (then bf) about getting a vasectomy, he agreed. one day when I was researching where he could get one he suddenly got really pissed and when I asked him he said he decided he wasn’t gonna get one anymore. I asked why and when he made this decision because this was news to me since last time he had been so sure about doing it. He refused to tell me why and insisted it was only his decision and he did not need to involve me in it. Sure, but I don’t want any more babies and it’s way less invasive to have a vasectomy than tubal ligation. We are not together anymore so I guess at the end of it I will be getting tubal ligation anyways. It’s very funny how men can choose what we do with our own bodies and force us into decisions without considering how we feel at all. When it comes to them they insist on having a choice. He’s free to make his own decision, but he did not consider me and was acting in selfishness. He also blamed me for getting pregnant like he didn’t willingly lay down with me. He refuses to help and insisted I gave the baby his last name. Wtf.

my bf got a vasectomy, but only after i had to get an abortion and he was there w me through the whole thing and saw how much i threw up and how miserable i was (every second i was pregnant was the worst moment of my life). he actually felt bad, like it was his fault, and never wanted it to happen again.

when we first met my bf didn't think anything of asking for biological children. now two years later he says he doesn't even want kids at all anymore because of the horrors women have to go through, the state of the world, the lack of freedom, etc. so we've decided to foster teenagers instead!

My friend said she would not get married if he didn't have a vasectomy. She was that serious about being childfree. He did, they are now in their 50s, and married over 20 years. Im so happy for her💞

If you asked me to get a vasectomy because you never wanted kids, I’d decline and wish you the best. Not because I think I own your body, but because I’m not giving up a future I want for someone who doesn’t share it. That’s called incompatibility, not entitlement.

sometimes I just think about the recovery time I needed after a surgery to get my tubes removed and that STILL had a shorter recovery with less permanent change than pregnancy would require. and you aren't guaranteed time off for pregnancy and birth, but you sure as hell can be for surgery and recovery!
