I think she was good, just not for Clark bc she mentioned she didn’t know how to save anyone ahd she mentioned that, I think that’s why she didn’t try to save him etc bc Clark didn’t want to change and I’m in therapy and I feel as if a therapist doesn’t know how to help if you don’t wanna change personally

the difference was that Clark did not want to be saved even when mary told him to his face what he was doing wrong yet Clark immediately clung to the idea that he didn't have to change so yeah she was a good therapist by all means

I go to a therapist and strive for it to one day be a potential career option. I personally was analyzing her as a therapist a LOT throughout the scenes and I think it was well portrayed. I agree with everything you said 👍

idk, it felt a little off asking a patient to act out a role play of the worst day of their lives. and Clark was clearly uncomfortable while doing it. obviously clark is a bad guy, but that therapy method seemed ill suited for him specifically. other than that she seems pretty good

I do sometimes wonder if she uses her own traumas to assist her in her work- as her whole message is “going through the window” and her past involves being caged behind a window. Clark’s situation is so severely different than what she’s used to that her therapy sessions don’t help him in any way.

Shouldn’t she have called the police for a wellness check or something? He says he found some place behind the walls and that he will come back with proof only to not come back or call for weeks to a month. Could she have called him like “hey you’re late to your appointment” “hey you missed this weeks appointment see ya next week” “ hey it’s been a couple weeks and no response” hearing that he was trying to find something behind the walls of his store and then not showing up would make me think that is became stuck or trapped somewhere and would need a wellness check

What did you think about the fact that Mary focused on that one night rather than Clark’s other problems? I’ve heard others say that Mary was a bad therapist because she seemed to only stay on one topic rather than talk about Clark’s other issues (like his narcissistic tendencies, alcoholism, etc)

There is something that I’ve been wondering—did Clark start seeing Mary out of his own volition or was she court-ordered because of the divorce?🤔 I hope I didn’t sound ignorant—I’m not too educated in the law.😭 I feel like Clark may have been ordered by the court to see Mary because he doesn’t seem like the type to take initiative nor have the discernment to make that decision nor want to spend his funds on it considering he’s financially unstable. Perhaps his ex wife used his anger in her case argument, so the judge ruled for him to get help?
