This wonderful song and tune was written by an Englishman in the year 1815 a pastor, John Newton. Involved heavily in the slave trade. On a ship on its way back to England full of black slaves. It hit a very violent storm.He prayed for his life and forgiveness. The stormed passed, and he wrote this beautiful hymn and he helped stop the salve trade. Foreve.

this song on the pipes holds so many memories for me , I was born in Scotland and came to Canada 🇨🇦 in 1968 ..when my parents passed away we had a pipe band play amazing Grace at both of their funerals , both times it brought me to my knees 💔🥺🙏💔🥺🙏 R.I.P mom and dad , I miss you both so much 😢 💔
