The main issue a lot of people have and training their dog I believe is the fail to follow repetition repetition, cause that is the main key factor to get the dog to do what you want

Does this method make it harder to use treats as a “lure” for training other new tricks? Holding a treat in a closed fist has been a really effective way to teach our golden retriever “touch,” “down,” “on,” “off,” “place,” etc. and then we fade the lure so the behavior works with either verbal, hand signal, or situation/routine consistency.

I just say „No“ and he won’t even pay attention to it, I could hold a treat to his face and he would turn his head away until I say he can have it, we NEVER reached him that and we had him since he was a puppy
