Anxious in the beginning and then the avoidant comes back months later snd the anxious hopefully has moved on.

The withdrawal hurt so bad. But no contact was needed.

I keep seeing that it takes an avoidant person months, or perhaps even years, to realize what they’ve lost, during that time, they might even try to form new connections... but does that mean *we* could be those new connections, or is someone else actually the great love of their life?

Avoidants always come back when your healing and dating someone else. It’s exhausting.

Hi, I'm not very good at putting my thoughts into words, but I'll try. I've been involved with a guy on and off for a little over three years. I have very strong feelings for him, and he knows that. Throughout these years, he has said a lot of nice things to me. We've had our fights, we've said goodbye to each other, but somehow we've always found our way back to each other several times. I've caught him talking to other girls before, and even when he was involved with someone else last year, he still spent time and energy making sure I knew about it. I should also mention that he deleted me on Snapchat and then came back before all of this happened. This year, I started to suspect that the same thing was happening again. He denied it the whole time until a few weeks ago. During that week, he kept telling me that he missed me, thought about me a lot, that I could call him whenever I wanted, and so on. In the end, I deleted him after he told me he didn't have feelings for me, and he deleted me back. I have so many questions in my head these days because it doesn't feel like things were ever properly resolved or brought to a real end. The same thing happened last time as well, but back then he never completely let go. He was still there, and he said exactly the same things. It wasn't like he agreed that we should end things, for example. I just find it strange how everything changed so quickly. During that same week, he was telling me I could call him if I wanted to talk because he was always there for me. He said he thought about me a lot, missed me, cared about me, and that there were no other girls because nobody would want someone like him. Then suddenly he was asking why I was calling him, admitting there was someone else, and becoming really cold toward me. 💔 What do you think? Is this a pattern? Will he keep behaving like this with other people? Why does it seem like he's able to have a relationship with others while treating me badly?
