7 Tips for Sublimating T-shirts! ⬇️✨ 1. Opt for 100% polyester apparel blanks or at least 60% polyester to ensure the sublimation dye bonds well onto the fabric without fading overtime. 2. Follow exact temperature and time recommendations for your specific sublimation paper and ink to avoid mishaps. For example, for these shirts I set my heat press to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 seconds. 3. Remove moisture and wrinkles by pre-pressing your shirt for 5-10 seconds before applying the sublimation print. (Don’t forget to go over it with a lint roller too!) 4. Place a white piece of cardstock inside your t-shirts before pressing. This will help avoid your design from transferring to the back side of your shirt. 5. ALWAYS use a layer of butcher paper over your design to protect your heat press from getting ink transferred onto the heat plate. 6. Use high-resolution images and bright, vivid colors to make your designs pop. 7. Apply consistent, even pressure during the pressing process to ensure flawless transfers.
