I can see how someone could mistake apple cider for ACV when quickly reading a recipe, however I do not understand why you would see it’s calling for 3 cups and not go back and read the recipe again more carefully because 3 cups of vinegar in a recipe that isn’t for pickles calls for a closer look

It KILLS me when people give low reviews and admit they changed the recipe. 🤦🏼♀️also apple juice would have been fine in a pinch. 😂

After a quick Google, in the US cider is unfiltered and unsweetened apple juice (not fermented) and non alcoholic, in Australia, the UK and Europe cider is an alcoholic / fermented apple juice and is what the US calls hard cider

But, it's not just that they used vinegar. It's that after they made the ham, after they ate it, after they decided it wasn't what they wanted, rather than look at the recipe to see if they had potentially made a mistake, they instead went directly to the recipe to leave a review.
