Whenever i see that scene of Batman saying "so that he wouldn't", i think of Dick's therapy session with Canary. He doesn't want Bruce to know he doesn't want to be The Batman thinking it'll disappoint him, not knowing Bruce would feel relieved knowing his purpose behind letting Dick find closure at such a young age was so that he wouldn't feel the burden of the mission the way he does
