My blackness won't end with me. No matter who I have kids with my kids will be black bc I am black and they will be raised in that culture. But they will love ALL parts of themselves. I go where I am loved period.

These conversations make it very clear that the only thing holding a lot of Black people back from voting conservative is being Black. A lot of them have very similar views to the white people they hate so much: they’re misogynistic, they’re homophobic. A lot hold very conservative views, but they can’t vote conservative because they recognize that due to their skin colour, that’s not in their best interest. It’s very clear that if some of them were white, they’d be MAGA, far right.

Do they not hear themselves erasing the blackness of mixed children? Do they not realize they are gatekeeping their own people from their communities? Do they not see they’re forcing mixed children into purely white spaces where they’re also not welcome? Where do those kids go to connect with their heritage?

i STAY saying just bc these people are a minority of a minority does not mean they should be excluded from conversations. yes we need nuance- especially when these numbers only seem small bc there’s 8billion on the planet. millions of black women do not receive the proper care- and thousands will become infertile or die due to it. hello ..?

There actually are challenges that come about when you consider that queer people cannot reproduce their social existence. Acknowledging this isn’t a form of hatred. But we do live in a heteronormative society because hetero people are the only ones who can reproduce their cultural and social values. You can be pro black and not have kids for sure. But it is not alt right to acknowledge the importance of the family unit in social reproduction. The fact is that the most pro blackness is going to come from a black household with a black mother and a black father. I don’t agree with the original comment you’re responding to. But I do agree that families are important. You don’t have to have a family if you don’t want to. But you should acknowledge that black families are the greatest source of your social reproduction.
