Peel has one of Canada’s highest diversity levels: ~69% visible minorities (2021 Census), over 80% in Brampton. Ontario schools promote 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion. However, polls show Canadians divided: ~46% say sexual orientation/gender identity topics should be left to parents (not schools); 63% support notifying parents on preferred pronouns/names. StatCan 2021: 0.33% of adults 15+ identify as trans/non-binary (higher among youth). Thoughts on these events for elementary kids?
