Sadly none of us will never truly know exactly wat the truth is.Tho God sent messages to man,man is corrupt.We literally have to trust that humans are giving us the whole truth which is scary.From reading genesis I definitely believe there are 3 beings doing different things.But still we are goin off of human information.The only thing I know,is that evil beings appear in my dreams.Only the name Jesus bursts them into flames.They laugh at first but after the 5th time or so shouting it in their face.They shake their heads screaming then flames.

Close, but Baal and Yahweh weren't brothers; they were direct rivals fighting for the same job description. Baal was the Canaanite storm god. Yahweh originally came from the south and eventually absorbed the traits of the chief god El (and his imagery). Because Yahweh and Baal filled the exact same cosmic role (riding clouds, sending rain), they couldn't coexist. Many scholars agree Israelite writers actively took Baal's old poetry and titles and reinterpreted them to praise Yahweh instead.

some extra context: the ancients believed that the gods could not hear your prayers unless you were inside their temple. so when king nebuchadnezzar demolished the first jewish temple along with the city for working with his political enemies, the worshippers moved on to Babylon and started worshipping other gods. The priests who lost their power found a solution: they told people their god was special and didn't need a temple, he is omniscient and omnipresent and can hear your prayers anywhere, and over time, they demonised other gods. this is how monotheism came into being, just a bunch of priests desperate to remain relevant.

I mean this isn’t news to us tho, like your sources are valid but it’s silly to frame this as a secret cover up when it’s literally the entire plot of our Bible 😭 God didn’t drop a modern theology textbook onto a Bronze Age civilization instead He met an ancient culture where they were at and slowly educated them over centuries, He would continuously guide them in the right direction by saying “you think there’s a council of gods? Well Yahweh stands at the center of it, those other gods are nothing compared to Him” and the prophets spent centuries yelling at the Israelites for blending Yahweh worship with Canaanite Polytheism

What’s insane is I took a whole bible class to learn the history of it and how it was written to become what it was today. The people in my church were fr telling me that was unchristian-like. Mind you I learned so much that I stopped going to church. It’s not what they say it is at all
